Bitten by the “Bug”

Bitten by the “Bug”

José‘s family had the opportunity to see the JESUS film on DVD in their own home.

As a follow-up to the film, José began listening to God’s Word on the Proclaimer. This has allowed him to be discipled and, as a good father, he made sure his family joined in on the listening so they, too, could be discipled.

José shares his experience with the Proclaimer: “No one in my family wanted to know anything about Jesus because of the behavior of others; but through the discipleship we are receiving, we are learning and have received Christ in our hearts.

People of different religions used to talk to me about many things. Now that I have come to know the love of God, I learned they were trying to deceive me. Studying the Bible and listening to the Proclaimer, I was able to discover that they were telling me many lies. I take the Proclaimer to work so my assistant and I can listen to it. We talk together about what Jesus did for us.

Now, since I brought the Proclaimer to my house, they all see a change and say to me, ‘What bug has bitten you?'

I used to drink a lot; I fought with my wife; my children didn’t respect me. Now, since I brought the Proclaimer to my house, they all see a change and say to me, ‘What bug has bitten you?’

How good it is to know that although things can be difficult, we can listen to the Word of God to receive encouragement to do what is right and for things to go well.

It is good to know about the Bible because my family asks me questions, and as I learn, I can answer.”

Before I became a Christian, I had been an epileptic since childhood. One day, I went to listen to the New Testament on a Proclaimer out of curiosity and heard that . . ."

“My name is Marcelo. I'm 36 years old and I've graduated from law school (though I don’t have the title yet). I am the son of a single mother who was very permissive with me and I had a stepfather who treated me very badly during my childhood. Although I never realized it, since I was very young I had lived a life of self-destruction (drunkenness, promiscuity, drugs when my friends offered them to me, irresponsible driving, etc.) and total . . .”
