“Deep, awesome words!”

“I feel so lost; I’m desperate to know what I need to do with my life. I’m eager to know more about Christianity and I’d love to acquire a Bible. I’m looking for inner peace, but I feel overwhelmed with confusion. My family and community are [of another faith]. They won’t answer my questions. How do I get the Bible where bookstores won’t even carry it?

This heartbreaking cry for help came to us through a private message to one of our foreign-language Bible.is Facebook pages from a woman in northern Africa. Our moderator assured her of our prayer support, passed along the request to many of us, and referred her to the Bible.is website for access to heart-language Scripture in audio. Soon after she responded:

“I’ve listened to the Bible. Deep, awesome words indeed! But what about the [writings of other religions]? Are all these a mere lie? The family and society I grew up in are making me so confused. I pray for God to reveal the truth to me. I really appreciate the team’s prayers.”

"Jesus, please reveal your greatness to me."

After listening for several more days, she wrote back again:

“Thank you for your prayers. I’m lifting my prayer to God. Oftentimes I say, ‘Jesus, please reveal your greatness to me. If you are my redeemer, let me know that in my heart.’ I’m feeling now that somebody is holding my hand. I have assurance that God will lead me to the right path.”

Praise God for the power of His Word in the lives of those who seek Him! Please pray with us for the Lord to continue revealing His truth and providing His peace to this remarkable woman.

Although I never realized it, since I was very young I had lived a life of self-destruction (drunkenness, promiscuity, drugs when my friends offered them to me, irresponsible driving, etc.) and total . . .”
