FAITH COMES BY HEARING FAMILY
Thank you for faithfully praying for the health, safety, and protection of our ministry’s leadership, employees and their families, and hundreds of partners in the field worldwide.
Praise God for providing the qualified people at the right time. We hired 34 new employees in 2019. We had 12 employees change positions within the ministry last year. Please continue to pray for all of the new and transitional employees as they learn their responsibilities and gain knowledge of the ministry. We currently have 3 open positions. Please pray that the Lord provides the right people to join us in these roles.
PACIFIC/OCEANIA
Indonesia:
- Pray for Faith Comes By Hearing to acquire all the agreements and the correct Scripture texts for recording the scheduled 12-14 NT recordings in 2020.
- Pray for the new recording team that has just been trained for a solid start on their first recording.
- Pray for Faith Comes By Hearing Indonesia as they attempt to increase listening groups by 550% in 2020.
Papua New Guinea:
- Pray for partners to be identified who are willing to accept shipments of Proclaimers and clear them through Customs for listening groups.
- Pray for an increase in recording capacity.
- Pray for the successful completion of the Ura New Testament recording, and the Binumarien recording.
- Praise God for the completion of the Siane New Testament!
Pacific: Pray that the Lord will open a door for several possible recording opportunities in Vanuatu, New Zealand, and Polynesia.
MIDDLE EAST/NORTH AFRICA/EURASIA
MENA: Praise God! The Lord brought us a very qualified person to serve as Strategy Coordinator for the region.
Sensitive Country: Praise God! After years of failed attempts, Faith Comes By Hearing has been able to make a visit to field partners for the first time ever.
Egypt (ongoing): Pray as we continue to seek ways to get audio Bible devices into the country in large quantities.
Central Asia: There are many new opportunities for further partnership, pray as we seek wisdom in moving forward.
AMERICAS
Sensitive Country: A Gospel Film initiative will be taking place in the coming months. Pray for the Gospel Films to bring to life the hope and transforming power of the Gospel invading the whole country. Pray that we also learn best practices in using the Gospel Film as churches and ministries experiment with different ways to incorporate the Gospel Film into their ministry.
United States: Pray for wisdom and likeminded partnerships as we begin looking for ways to engage the refugee population entering our country. Pray for ways we can strategically and comprehensively minister to the world that is coming to our very own back yard.
Netherlands Antilles: Praise the Lord for the recording of the OT and NT in Papiamentu. On March 6, the inauguration will take place on the island of Curaçao. Please pray for the Bible Society in the Netherlands Antilles as they make the recording known through various channels. Pray also for the training of group leaders for listening and watching groups the next day.
CHURCH DEVELOPMENT
Middle East: Pray for the thousands of soldiers being deployed into the Middle East, that the Military BibleSticks would find their way into the hands of these deployed soldiers and that they would be safe from both physical and spiritual death.
Praise God! In 2019, we shipped over 210,000 Military BibleSticks to chaplains, VA hospitals, military bases, and other veteran organizations—a 19% increase over the previous year. God is continuing to reach veterans and service members with the Gospel.
ORAL BIBLE TRANSLATION (OBT)
Please pray that the Technical Support Staff would have the wisdom and insight to diagnose and correct any technical issues that may be encountered in the field by users.
Pray that the hardware and software used by field teams to carry out the oral Bible translation will function well. We also want to pray for the safety of the field translation teams and their physical and spiritual protection.
Praise God that the recent Render upgrades and updates have made the software more effective and efficient for project users in the field.
Pray for clarity and good communication about the OBT process, needed personnel and onsite training as we begin new projects in Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Mozambique, Nepal, DRC, Papua New Guinea and Australia this year!
Pray for the Word of God to fall on open ears and soft hearts so that people all over the world will be able to engage with God by listening to Him in their heart language.
LANGUAGE RECORDING
Praise God! Several new recording teams were successfully equipped and trained in Southeast Asia and South Asia. We are grateful for the dedication and leadership of our local partner organizations. These teams have finished or will soon finish their first recordings. Pray for their stamina and perseverance to continue this work, despite the many challenges they have encountered.
Please continue to pray for the diligent work of our translation partners, recording teams (50), and studio workers to make Scripture available for those who need to know that God speaks their language.
